Numerous Full Frame Alumni Among Cinema Eye Honors Nominees

    Cinema Eye Honors, an organization that recognizes “outstanding artistic achievement in nonfiction and documentary films and series,” has announced its slate of Feature Film nominations for its 18th annual awards celebrations. 

    Julian Brave NoiseCat and Emily Kassie’s SUGARCANE (Full Frame 2024), an investigation into abuse and forced separations in a Canadian Indigenous community, received six nominations across categories, including Outstanding Nonfiction Feature and Direction. 

    Another Full Frame alum, filmmaker Stephen Maing, was nominated for two different projects: Outstanding Direction (along with Brett Story) for UNION (Full Frame 2024) and Outstanding Nonfiction Feature (as the cinematographer) for LOOK INTO MY EYES (Full Frame 2024).

    In all, there were 27 nominations for films that screened in the 26th annual Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, held in April 2024.
