Dawn Porter Wins National Humanities Medal

Full Frame alum Dawn Porter is one of the 19 brilliant thinkers and change-making organizations recently awarded the National Humanities Medal. The recipients were presented their medals in a private ceremony at the White House last month.

Porter, an attorney-turned-filmmaker, directed Full Frame’s 2024 Closing Night Film, LUTHER: NEVER TOO MUCH. The documentary on Luther Vandross played to a packed house at the festival and is now in select theaters across the country.
